The SQF Practitioner has a thorough understanding of GFSI programs and works with staff and Management to ensure that all employees understand and follow the Food Safety requirements and codes of conduct.

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**
- Performs monthly SQF facility inspections.
- Conducts/participates in SQF verification activities.
- Conducts/participates in daily walks and reports.
- Trains employees in Food Safety and Good Distribution Practices.
- Identifies and corrects deviations and is responsible for the completion and publishing of Corrective Action Reports (CARs).
- Works directly with 3rd party auditors during annual food safety (SQF) audit.
- Works with FSQA Manager for 2nd party (customer) audits.
- Responsible for coordinating overall HACCP requirements and GFSI certification.
- Ensures that critical control points (CCPs) are implemented and recorded as per HACCP plan.
- Works with FSQA Manager for updating Food Safety Program when necessary.
- Responsible for overseeing the quality of sanitation services in conjunction with the Sanitation Supervisor, Maintenance Manager and Facility Managers.
- Works with FSQA Manager to analyze Client Complaints.
- Responsible for working on special projects as assigned by FSQA Manager.
- Needs to be fully capable of working in varying temperatures, which can range anywhere from 2 to 15 degrees Celsius in multi-temperature warehouse and from 0 to -20 degrees Celsius in cold storage facilities.
- Ability to travel between different Brimich Facilities as required.

- Understands and works in compliance with the Environmental and Health/Safety management systems, policies, rules, and guidelines.
- Observe standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the OH&S Act.
- Takes every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker.

**Job Specifications—Skills and Competencies**:

- Education in food science, food engineering or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of Food Safety programs (HACCP, GFSI, SQF, etc.).
- Completed prerequisite courses in HACCP, SQF and SQF: Internal audits would be an asset.
- Experience in a similar role in the food industry.
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills in English.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
- Must have people skills for working with individuals and teams.
- Must have good organizational skills, be a self-starter and a team player.
- Attention to detail - data entry, analysis, counts, reviewing work.
- Practices and maintains integrity while following the Company policies and procedures.
- Creates a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
