- Staff of Royal Ottawa Place will create an environment where residents, living with a stable but long-term mental illness and with associated behavioural and safety issues can feel at home and have a full, meaningful and diverse life. Staff will provide opportunities for the residents to maintain control over many aspects of their lives in a safe and secure environment._

**Duties**:

- Provide psychological evaluations / risk assessments in a timely fashion for the purposes of Court/Parole ordered psychiatric assessment for people who suffer from a severe mental illness who come into conflict with the legal system.
- Provide individual and team case consultation/training to staff regarding mental health and correctional best practices and clinical supervision (e.g. group or individual) to allied health staff to ensure adherence to best practices.
- Participate in the development, organization, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based correctional programs as part of the Integrated Forensic Program.
- Coordinate, supervise, and validate evaluation data collection, data dissemination and report completion.
- Conduct various aspects of research, (e.g. grant proposals, presentations and publications) and disseminate subsequent research findings (presentations, peer-reviewed publications).
- Direct and indirect clinical care involving assessments (e.g., diagnostic assessments, psychoeducational assessments and therapeutic interventions) and interventions (e.g., group and individual therapies).
- Function as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Participate in academic activities including: supervision of pre-doctoral practicum students and residents in psychology and supervise the practice of psychology staff.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills through participation in program and discipline specific activities.
- Demonstrated commitments to continuous quality improvement, evidence based practices and team work are essential.
- Demonstrate professional integrity through adherence to college and hospital guidelines for the practice of psychology, including; adherence to the Canadian Code of Ethics for psychologists, adherence to College of Psychologists of Ontario guidelines for registration, professional practice, professional development, supervision, communications and documentation of client contacts, as well as adherence to The Royal’s policies on timely completion of documentation and workload measurement.
- Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal.
- Ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Harassment-Free Workplace Policy.

**Qualifications**:

- Doctorate from a CPA/APA Accredited Clinical Psychology Program
- Registered or eligible to be registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario is mandatory, those in supervised practice will be considered.
- Mandatory Authorized areas of practice in Clinical Psychology (and Concurrent Forensic Psychology, is an asset).
- Mandatory Authorized client population with adults.
- Preference for additional Authorized areas of practice in Clinical Neuropsychology, and preference for Authorized client population with youth and seniors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and competency with integration of psychiatric rehabilitation principles and practices of recovery-oriented treatments, as well as core correctional practices e.g. Risk Need Responsivity Model.
- Demonstrated competency in delivering evidence based treatment in both individual and group formats.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and to communicate and collaborate in an inter-professional team context are essential
- Maintain work load measurement and data collection as required and input into the workload measurement system on a regular basis.
- Experience in conducting correctional oriented research and related program evaluation preferred.
- English level A- is mandatory in oral comprehension, expression, reading, and writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.

**Salary Range**:

- $55.62 to $70.89 per hour**Additional Information**
