**Microbiologist**:
**Main Functions**:
You will report directly to the supervisor of the Microbiology laboratory. You will carry out the various activities related to the microbiology laboratory which includes the Lallemand Culture Collection.

**The main functions associated with this position are**:

- Prepare and send pure culture strains (yeast, bacteria, fungus) to different plants and collaborators;
- Characterization and analyzes strains (mainly yeast);
- Participate in collecting and preserving data on new strains to be added in collection;
- Analyze microbiological yeast (contaminants, viability, etc.);
- Participate in the development and revision of laboratory procedures;
- Prepare materials and culture media for analysis;
- Contribute to the proper functioning of the laboratory;
- Participate to other tasks that may be assigned.

**Technical skills**:
Required
- Must be able to follow existing standard protocols and develop / optimize new protocols
- Experience in microbiology laboratory and good laboratory practices
- Bachelor degree in microbiology (or equivalent)
- Excellent written and spoken skills in French and English

**Personal abilities**:
Required
- High attention to details and compliance with standards and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills
- Teamwork, sense of responsibility and autonomy
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good problem solving skills

**General criteria**:
Required
- Ability to handle loads (20 kg)
