**Position: FORKLIFT OPERATOR/MATERIAL HANDLER (Warehouse)**

**Position Location: VAUGHAN**

**Primary Function**:
To prepare, load, and unload building materials in the warehouse through the safe operation of a forklift truck. Load and unload heavy building materials by hand when needed.

**Work experience and other requirements**:

- Proven ability to operator a lift truck (propane) in a safe and efficient manner
- Must be physically fit and able to do the work involved
- Health and Safety Conscious
- Obtain and follow clear direction from supervisors/ managers and ensure a high level of effectiveness
- Safe operation of a lift truck and other equipment while loading or unloading building materials
- Ensure that all products are shipped on schedule, according to specific instructions by the supervisor/ manager to meet customer demands

**Skills and knowledge**:

- Effective written and oral communication skills (ability to speak, read and write English)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- General tool use including basic skills with hand tools
- Works well under pressure
- Knowledge of building materials

**Physical Activity Description**:
Activities include, but, are not limited to;
- Loading and unloading of building supply materials from company and vendor trucks
- Pulling, pushing and torso twisting movements to transfer building materials
- Pull, Lift or flip drywall to stack materials (piles of drywall or other products)
- Lifting and carrying of drywall and insulation with weight up to 80 pounds

**Salary**: $15.50-$21.72 per hour
