**The Opportunity**
The International Aid & Development Project Officer will support the development, coordination, and execution of Habitat Canada’s Global Village volunteer program. This role will work as a member of the Resource Development team, contributing their strong organizational and administrative skills and growing their project management knowledge to help maximize volunteer support.

This is an excellent eight (8) weeks summer student job opportunity to learn more about nonprofits and housing issues. This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs youth employment program. You must meet the eligibility requirements for Canada Summer jobs in order to be considered for this position, **including being between the ages of 15 and 30.**

**Your Impact**

As a valued member of our team, you will help advance our strategy to significantly increase the number of families obtaining and maintaining affordable housing and your major responsibilities will be to:

- Support a highly effective volunteer program through maintaining financial and administrative databases capturing budgets, expenses, disbursements, and registrations.
- Assist in the pre-departure preparations of Global Village build experiences as needed by each team.
- Facilitate the creation, analysis and sharing of reports on activities and trends.
- Coordinate the development of Global Village communications and project documents together with the relevant team members.
- Maintain up-to-date information and resources on Global Village.
- Liaise with Global Village team members to ensure relevant information is shared in a timely and professional manner with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attend Habitat Canada staff meetings and events as required.

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ years of experience in the field of project management or administration experience.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in International Development.
- Highly organized, able to prioritize and detail oriented.
- Demonstrated record of problem-solving and priority-setting in a fast paced, complex and evolving environment.
- Budgeting and basic accounting experience.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
- Knowledge of French and/or Spanish an asset.
- Experience working or volunteering overseas is an asset.
- Demonstrated success working with multicultural teams.
- Growing knowledge of program quality processes including MEAL.
- Effective at developing positive working relationships evidenced by a track record of teamwork and collegiality.
- Expert knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and other relevant software programs.
- Shares Habitat’s values for equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.

**Working Conditions**:
The Global Village Officer works during Habitat Canada’s normal office hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and may on occasion be required to attend a partner related event outside of normal office hours.

**Salary Range**:
$16.55 per hour
