**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- Assist with enforcement and compliance with provincial legislation
- Conduct resource management and monitoring activities at Monarch Point Conservation Reserve
- Assist with customer service and provide information to park visitors and stakeholders

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory requirements**:

- You must have the ability to be designated as a Park Warden and meet ministry certification criteria and standards in the use of force.
- You must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Pleasure Craft Operator's Card.
- You must be able to work shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as per schedule.
- You must have the physical ability to perform the duties of the position and to work in inclement weather.
- You must be willing and able to travel and work in parks and protected areas throughout the southeast zone.

**Resource management and legislation**:

- You possess working knowledge of resource management principles and practices applicable to Parks.
- You possess knowledge of, and ability to identify invasive species and endangered species.
- You possess knowledge of best management practices as it pertains to Ontario Parks.
- You possess the ability to implement, contribute and monitor plans for resource management.
- You possess knowledge of GIS technology and ability to operate GIS systems.

**Interpersonal and communication skills**:

- You have proven communication skills to address complaints; to deliver information to park visitors; to effectively deliver compliance/enforcement messages and to defend challenges in a courtroom setting.
- You have interpersonal skills to interact effectively with park visitors and provide information to stakeholders.
- You have written and oral communication skills to produce reports, presentations and correspondence.

**Technical expertise**:

- You have knowledge and experience operating and maintaining a variety of equipment to carryout routine maintenance duties (e.g. chainsaws, brush saws, hand tools).
- You have knowledge of the safe operation and maintenance of various equipment and vehicles (e.g. all-terrain vehicles, canoes, motorboats).

**Analytical skills**:

- You have analytical and organizational skills to determine urgency of matters, prioritize, evaluate park needs, organize own workload, and meet deadlines.
- You have the ability to respond to emergency situations, considering urgency, implications and possible effects to ensure environmental and human protection.

**Essential skills**:

- You have demonstrated leadership skills to work in a team and provide guidance to staff.
- You have organizational skills and the ability to work independently and follow and carry out instructions.
