**GENERAL DESCRIPTION**:The Community Mediation Case Worker supports the Coordinator of Community Mediation
(the Coordinator) in operating our community mediation and restorative justice services, providing mediation, coaching and other services, using rosters of volunteer mediators and student interns to a wide variety of individual and institutional partners and clients in Toronto. This position reports to the Coordinator of Community Mediation and is a part of **CUPE 2289.**

**MAJOR DUTIES**:

- Assist the Coordinator in making plans to continuously improve and adapt our community mediation and restorative justice services to the needs of our clients, funders, partners and others, to complement the other interrelated services CRT offers
- Doing outreach, especially developing referral and other partnerships in Scarborough
- Case management: intake (events and continuous), assessment, assignment and supervision of community mediation and restorative justice cases
- Maintaining accurate and timely case records, including generating statistics and reports as required
- Assisting the Coordinator to rrecruit, train and supervise the roster of volunteer mediators who deliver our mediation, coaching and other services,
- Assisting the Coordinator to recruit, train and supervise student placements and interns doing case management and other tasks
- Do community mediations, and deliver occasional professional services for CRT
- Assist the Coordinator in representing CRT in the Ontario Community Mediation Coalition
- Actively participate in and prepare for individual and team supervision sessions
- Attend internal and external meetings as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain up-to-date records and statistics, as instructed
- Participate and cooperate with health and safety regulations and instructions
- Communicate any concerns or developing problems immediately to the Coordinator of Community Mediation
- Adhere to all programs and TNG policies and procedures and ensure confidentiality is maintained on all client, staff and agency matters
- Use online time and labour system
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

**REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A relevant college diploma, and minimum 2 - 3 years recent experience in alternative dispute resolution or a related field, or combined equivalent of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience in community mediation, esp. transformative models
- Experience with intake, assessment and supervision of casework
- Experience supervising and coordinating volunteers and student interns
- Excellent project coordination, administrative and information management skills, verbal and written communications, knowledge of relational databases and Microsoft Office
- Experience working with diverse communities
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills, second language an asset
- Able to work occasional evenings and weekends
- Able to travel to and work from a variety of locations, and CRTs offices
