As a Timber Design team member, you will play a vital role in assisting with timber design projects, working closely with experienced professionals to develop innovative and sustainable solutions in the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build a career in timber design and engineering.

**What You'll Do**:

- Collaborate with senior designers and engineers in developing timber-based design solutions for various construction projects, including structural components and systems.
- Contribute to the creation of detailed timber design plans, including drawings, specifications, and material lists, while considering factors such as load-bearing capacities, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Assist with structural analysis of timber elements using appropriate software tools and engineering principles to ensure the safety and stability of designs.
- Learn and implement sustainable design practices within timber construction, including the use of environmentally friendly materials and resource-efficient design.
- Provide support to project managers and senior team members in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, gaining experience in understanding client requirements and presenting design proposals.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in timber design and construction, seeking opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- Participate in quality control processes, including design reviews and assessments to maintain high standards of workmanship.

**What You'll Bring**:

- A Bachelor's or post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering, or a related field with a focus or coursework related to timber design preferred.
- Familiarity with fundamental engineering principles and the basics of timber design. Proficiency in structural analysis software and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools is a plus.
- The ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, taking direction from experienced professionals.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, allowing you to convey ideas and work effectively with colleagues and clients.
- A willingness to tackle complex design challenges and develop innovative solutions within the timber construction field.
- A desire to learn and adapt to a fast-paced work environment, embracing change and evolving strategies as needed.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
