**Job Summary**

The Research Associate will gather and evaluate information relevant to a given topic; presents conclusions and alternatives in the context of business goals.

- Timely analysis and forecasts of the economy and financial markets
- Quarterly economic updates and monthly Canadian housing analysis
- An ongoing series of conversations with leading thinkers about reimagining Canada’s economy

**What will you do?**
- Support SVP with briefing material and related research
- Conduct secondary research, analyze data, develop insights and prepare comprehensive briefing documents on various topics including market trends, geopolitics, technology, legislation.
- Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
- Prepare detailed briefing documents, reports, and presentations summarizing research findings and analysis.
- Assist in developing research strategies and methodologies for larger thought leadership reports
- Stay updated on relevant industry news, publications, and research methodologies to ensure the delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify research needs and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Participate in meetings and discussions to present research findings and contribute to strategic decision-making processes.
- Maintain organized records of research materials, data sources, and documentation for future reference

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must-have**
- ~2-3 experience in research, data analysis, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data sets and draw meaningful conclusions
- Proficiency in research methodologies, data collection techniques, and statistical analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise briefing documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data visualization tools preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work

**Nice-to-have**
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Economics, Business, Market Research, or equivalent experience
- Experience working in financial services
- Experience working with Bloomberg terminal
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving
