**Position Description**:
We are currently looking for a Clinical Data Coordinator to oversee the Heart Centre registries practices, which are tools for tracking the clinical care and outcomes of patients with specific diseases or conditions, and to provide daily leadership on efficient collection and input of Heart Centre PC4 registry. The Registries Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Manager IMT and the cardiology interdisciplinary quality team to continuously evaluate and improve the collection of patient care data. The coordinator is committed to improving performance outcomes for the registry team.

- Departmental awareness of what the registry is and why the practice is using it.
- Ensuring registry use is incorporated into the clinical practice and workflow.
- Training staff as needed on use of the registry.
- Coordinating data entry.
- Maintaining data definitions and ensuring data entry according to these definitions.
- Ensuring that the registry and data categories stay up to date and relevant:

- Validating data.
- Data are entered consistently, correctly, and completely.
- Regularly backing-up the data file.
- Reporting results to Clinical teams and outside partners and organizations as appropriate.
- Identifying issues related to the registry and proposing solutions.
- Working with other team members to improve the coordination and use of the registry.
- Identifies, understands, and communicates and meets the Harvest schedule.
- Supports committees, teams, and leadership with data collection, analysis, and identification of trends, benchmarks, and variances in data.
- Participate in community outreach education and marketing initiatives through presentations at meetings and/or workshops as appropriate.
- Participate in providing education to multidisciplinary teams about the cardiac registry.
- Will be required to attend National and State Collaborative, State Registry Conference meetings.
- Convey results and recommendations and interact with outside consultants and vendors.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

**Here¿s What You¿ll Need**:

- Preferred experience working in a healthcare industry or clinical environment.
- Knowledge of hospital data systems and an understanding of HIS (Hospital Information Systems).
- Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
- Knowledge of PC4, reports and methodologies is preferred.
- Ability to interpret clinical information and documentation.
- Proficient in computer spreadsheets and databases and word processing.
- Preferred knowledge of the Heart Centre registries database and data dictionaries.
- Ability to stay current with databases requirements and collection processes.
- Demonstrates leadership ability, communications, and interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with physicians, management, staff, external agencies/customers, and patients/families.
- Knowledge of performance improvement purpose and process.
- Ability to interpret data reports and communicate results to multidisciplinary team and leadership.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage several projects at one time and meet deadlines.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to establish priorities and to act independently.
- Ability to exercise judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Preferred quality improvement experience in a clinical area.
- Will be required to complete Registries Licenses/Certifications or equivalent clinical training after joining SickKids team.
