**Health and Safety Coordinator**
- The Nogojiwanong Indigenous Fringe Festival is Canada's first and only Indigenous Fringe Festival. 2023 will be the third annual festival, with performances by 6-10 Indigenous companies taking place in various indoor and outdoor spaces on the Trent University campus. Festival opening is on Indigenous Peoples Day, June 21 and multiple performances continue through June 25. Panels, workshops and screenings round out festival activities. NIFF is supported by a strong board of Indigenous community members as well as our mentor/advisors Muriel Miguel and Drew Hayden Taylor._

Prior to the festival, this person will establish appropriate health and safety procedures in accordance with local public health and Trent University guidelines. This person will ensure adequate hydration, first aid, COVID safety, etc. are managed on site during the festival as well as working with technical staff to ensure safe setup and maintenance of indoor and outdoor venues. During the festival the health and safety coordinator will supervise staff and volunteers in maintaining safe procedures and will pay particular care to the needs of Elders and children during the event.

May 15 - June 25 (6 weeks)
$20/hr x 35 hrs/wk (Evening and weekend work required during the festival)
Requirements: Eligible for Canada Summer Jobs Funding; Current First Aid Certification; Experience working in public settings, with elders, dealing with emergency situations. Will be required to lift and move equipment and work outdoors.
