**About the Opportunity**:
The Advisor will work as part of a multidisciplinary team developing a community-based program to address recommendations from the Mass Casualty Commission report related to mental health and wellness, and grief and bereavement programming. This is a pivotal liaison role with communities affected directly by the mass casualty event. The Engagement Advisor will use a trauma-informed approach to develop key relationships and build trust with individuals, communities, and community organizations in Nova Scotia Health’s Northern Zone, with an initial focus on Colchester, Cumberland, and East Hants counties. This position will support engagement planning and facilitate community participation to ensure that individuals, groups and communities are involved in implementation and evaluation of the program.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Masters degree (Adult Education, Communication, Public Administration, Public Health) or equivalent with 3 - 5 years relevant experience
- Baccalaureate degree (Adult Education, Communication, Public Administration, Public Health) or equivalent with 5 - 7 years relevant experience
- Equivalent combination of education and 7+ years progressive experience in related fields may be considered
- Experience with community development, community outreach, facilitation, trauma-informed approaches, and public speaking/presentations
- Familiarity with mental health and/or grief and bereavement programming is preferred
- Completion of the IAP2 Foundations of Public Participation Certificate; professional designation (CP3) from IAP2 preferred.
- Project management is an asset.

**Hours**:

- Permanent, Full-Time position; 75 hours bi-weekly

**Compensation and Incentives**:
$30.30 - $36.79 Hourly
