- Vancouver, BCCoSA VFX has a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic professional to take on the role of **IT Manager **to join the team in our **Vancouver office in a hybrid capacity.**

Reporting to CoSA’s Head of IT,** **the primary responsibility of our IT Manager is to assure excellent IT service in support of the CoSA studio. The IT teams support CoSA’s mission by providing a reliable, efficient, cost-effective and technology-forward studio operation. At its core is this: understanding and serving the technology needs of the CoSA teams.

CoSA VFX’s mission is to create a stable, empowering community, where gifted people produce astounding visual effects, in an environment of uncompromising professionalism, integrity, kindness, and respect.

**This role will be Vancouver based, with intermittent on-site responsibilities.**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Stable Studio Operations:

- Oversee technology operations (infrastructure and help desk), leading both according to established CoSA studio goals
- Ensure smooth delivery and operation of IT services by monitoring its systems, processes, and performance
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by CoSA’s senior leadership
- Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
- Create processes and standards for selection, implementation, and support of systems
- Build strong relationships with vendors and create cost-efficient contracts
- Conduct regular audits to ensure the security, stability, and connectivity of our systems.
- Proactively ensure security risks are mitigated
- Lead the IT security efforts, assuring a high level of security is maintained, and where possible, improve, in accordance with strict industry standards (TPN)
- Efficient Studio Operations
- Work with software development teams to leverage the maintenance and improvement of the studio pipeline
- Analyze the business requirements of the creative and business departments to understand and support their technology needs
- Consult senior-level stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs and to optimize the use of information technology
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new infrastructure systems, hardware and software.
- Identify emerging technologies that further CoSA’s stability, efficiency and capabilities.
- Re-access processes and protocols to assure they serve the needs of the CoSA studio departments
- Monitor, and when needed, guide the progress IT related projects
- Collaborate with the studio operations manager to plan IT work windows and mitigate downtime
- Cost Effective Studio Operations
- Anticipate future technology needs and projected costs/cost savings
- Control budget and report on expenditure
- Oversee the planning and purchase of efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software

- Hiring, managing and retaining skilled IT team members (employee and contractors)

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
- Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
- Experience in controlling information technology budget
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication abilities
- BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
