**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:A **Care Partner** to assist and promote the well-being of our residents and support our nurses. Provides hands on personal care, assistance, enhancing the quality of life by promoting independence, guidance, understanding, and supporting our residents in their activities of daily living. Encouraging the Residents involvement in programs that support the social, physical, spiritual, emotional, and psychological needs. Ensuring and promoting compliance with IPAC policies, keeping up to date with ORCA Learning Center Modules, and any additional courses/training that arises surrounding Covid-19. Participates as a member of the Health Care Team, following the policies and procedures of the RHRA, informing the Charge Nurse of behavioural situations, as well as the guidelines set out by the Residence.

You will report to the Health and Wellness Director and may be assigned additional duties as the need arises.

**Personal Support Workers (PSW), Caregiver or Resident Guest Attendants (RGA)**

**Salary from**:$18.00 - $22.00

**Hours**: Days, Evenings, Nights, Holidays, and Weekends

**7:00am to 3:00pm, 3:00pm to 11:00pm and 11:00pm to 7:00am**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- Participates with other members of the Health and Wellness Team in order to carry out a Plan of Care that will promote the optimal physical, social, cognitive, spiritual, and emotional well-being of each resident.
- Performs hands on, personal care to residents based on their individual Plan of Care
- Promotes resident’s independence in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) by assisting with personal hygiene, dressing/undressing, transferring, toileting, and use of ambulatory aids while maintaining good body mechanics, using mechanical aids appropriately with assistance from team members to prevent strain, injury, or fatigue to self or resident
- Assists/supervises residents at mealtime with escorting to/from the dining room and provide one-on-one assistance during the meal as needed. Reports to Charge Nurse regarding any concerns that arise during meals
- Provides care for non-ambulatory residents, including maintaining skin integrity, frequent repositioning, grooming, dressing/undressing, and personal care
- Protects the rights of the residents, in the matters of confidentiality, privacy, religious beliefs, and values
- Assists Charge Nurse in monitoring some vital signs, document bowel/bladder output and nutritional intake, if requested, measuring, emptying, and reporting catheter output, if necessary
- Receives verbal/written reports from outgoing shift Team Members and follows up on any incidents/concerns from previous shifts
- Reports all resident’s, family member’s, and employee’s incidents/accidents/concerns
- Assumes responsibility for personal, vocational growth and development through participation in Team Development Training, seminars, and workshops. Participates in meetings as scheduled
- Shows respect to each resident and their privacy and acknowledge their right to share in decision making regarding their care and maintaining their dignity
- Ability to establish and maintain a harmonious relationship with each resident and their families
- Reports environmental safety hazards to Charge Nurse/Joint Occupational Health and Safety Board Member
- Assists in prevention of environmental hazards (e.g. wiping up spills, in absence of Housekeeping staff) following WHIMS and
