Kssep School Groundskeeper

**The School Groundskeeper/Maintenance Worker will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the schoolyards and buildings as set forth by the school Building Attendant. The student will also be expected to be punctual and follow the set work schedule. The student must be willing to do physical labor and be prepared to work outdoors as needed.**

**The student must be registered with the Kahnawake Summer Student Employment Program (KSSEP).**

**The position begins on Monday, June 24, 2024 to Thursday, August 15, 2024. The student will work 22 hours per week from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, Monday to Thursday.** For more information, see attached job posting.**

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Interested in yardwork, gardening, and basic maintenance duties
- Knowledge of electric and gas powered lawn equipment
- Willingness to participate in training/workshops
- Responsible, punctual, self-starter
- Can work independently and be able to follow instructions
- Must be registered with KSSEP

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintaining gardens; regular weeding and watering
- Cutting grass using ride/push mower, and whipper snipper
- Maintain above ground planting boxes
- Assist in fence repair and/or other structures in need of repair
- Painting
- Pruning of trees along perimeter of school grounds
- Removal of debris such as branches, tall weeds, grass cuttings
- Proper care and maintenance of tools used (riding mower, push mower,
- whipper snipper, and other garden tools)
- Heavy lifting involved
- Job is weather related, may be redirected to indoor tasks on occasion
