**1. Responsibilities**

The responsibilities of the Blaster Technician and Technical Analyst will include the following:
**- Explosive Testing and Training**
- Managing explosive testing at Range
- Product mixing and data recording
- Explosives inventory management
- Site Security management
- VOD and other industry testing
- Detailed report writing and results data base maintenance
- Performance recommendations
- Developing procedures & operating instructions for Range
- Lay out drill pattern and determine depth and diameter of blast holes
- Handle, store and transport explosives and accessories in accordance with regulations and ensure that safety procedures are observe
- Assemble or direct other workers to assemble primer charges using selected detonators, fuses, detonating cords and other materials
- Load explosives in blast holes by hand or direct movement of bulk explosives trucks to load holes

**- Plant Development**
- Managing pilot plant runs
- QC & QA system development and adherence
- Raw materials management
- Develop procedures & operating instructions for pilot plant
- Product Approvals and Technical Analysis
- Understanding requirements for product approvals
- Interface with CERL & ERD for testing
- Documentation development and management for packaging specifications.
- Technical product performance analysis
- Proficient in English
- Certified blaster or equivalent
- Experience in explosives testing
- Technical and analytical explosive report writing skills in English (a sample may be asked for submission)
- Technical background in explosives or blasting

**2. What we are looking for**:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate reasoning
- Have technical skills in and exposure to commercial explosives including firing
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Has a self-starter attitude with a high level of motivation

**3. Other Information**:

- This is a Monday - Friday position.
- This is a full time position, starting September 2023.
- Laboratory facilities are located in North Bay and Sudbury. If you do not live nearby, you will be required to relocate temporarily for your placement period.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
