**Must be available to work weekdays (specifically mornings), the occasional Saturday and no time-off requests for January**

**Position: Optometric Assistant (Part time)**

**Location: Lethbridge Vision Care (inside Park Place Mall, attached to Lenscrafters)**

**Hours: 5 - 30 hrs per week**

**Job duties include but are not limited to**:

- **Conducting preliminary testing on patients (creating medical charts with a wide range of complaints/concerns/ocular history, operating diagnostic machines & contact lens training)**:

- **Scheduling & confirming appointments**:

- **Answering multiple phone lines**:

- **Checking patients in/out**:

- **Submitting insurance claims on various portals**:

- **Billing to Alberta Health Care**:

- **Ordering and selling contact lenses**:

- **Selling eye care products/accessories based on doctor recommendation**:

- **Creating invoices & receiving payments**:

- **Cleaning & office maintenance**

**Requirements**:

- **Strong attention to detail and follow-through**:

- **Flexible, hands-on work who is a fast learner**:

- **Exceptional computer and technical skills**:

- **Great time management & organizational skills**:

- **Strong verbal and written communication skills**:

- **Outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills**:

- **Professional presentation & respect for patient confidentiality**:

- **Ability to work in a fast, team-based & open-office environment**:

- **Reliable and committed worker who is willing to grow with the company**

**Experience**:

- **1 or more years experience in Optometry or a related field**:

- **Medical office experience is considered to be an asset**

**Education**:

- **High school diploma or equivalent**:

- **Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, or other related certification/post secondary is considered to be an asset**

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
