The Deputy Project Manager will assist, lead, manage and coordinate the efforts of our construction service team members. You will get insight into the efficient operations and execution of solving leak-stopping and ground consolidation/stabilization challenges in high-profile heavy railroad construction and infrastructure development projects in one of the industry’s most efficient and innovative companies.

The Deputy Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the works in solving leak-stopping and ground consolidation/stabilization challenges in heavy railroad construction / major infrastructure projects. The oversight of all on-site activities ensures that our teams follow project plans and schedules, deliver correct quality, and execute the project's execution within the timeframe and the budget.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervising our tasks within heavy railroad construction projects and all our operations on the site
- Ensuring that the quality of work is as planned - Upholding Quality Assurance and Quality Control standards
- Monitoring all team members and the progress of the project and report as required
- Ensuring that the health and safety plans are implemented and followed
- Ensuring that the project objectives are followed, while working with the Project Manager in managing all activities
- Creating, monitoring, and updating project schedules and ensuring schedules are followed and provide updates to the Operations Manager/Senior Management as required
- Organizing and supervising site staff and ensuring that they are performing as required
- General inspection of the crew, their performance, and safety
- Coordinating with clients/site superintendents on the requirements of the site
- Creating, maintaining, and executing project plan and schedule and ensure compliance within planned timelines
- Supervising and coordinating all site-specific activities and employees
- Planning and coordinating resources to meet construction milestones and schedule
- Creating a safe job site with site-specific plans, procedures, documenting and maintaining records
- Assessing crew performance, ensuring project materials and workmanship meets the project quality standards and design requirements
- Providing effective communication with and obtain information from engineers, designers, inspectors, and owners to effectively implement the project
- Providing recommendations, suggestions, and options to the management team for improving potential problems, work interferences, or scheduling difficulties and proactively resolving construction issues, conflicts, and scheduling complications
- Maintaining the project’s Daily Records
- Having a thorough understanding of working in large scale infrastructure and commercial projects
- Ability to read and understand project documentation including, specifications and project drawings
- Ability to be an effective team leader
- Ability to organize and to prioritize required tasks on a day-to-day basis.
- Ability to lead the teams in high-pressure situations
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally with all members of the construction team and effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Must have strong scheduling skills and aptitude with scheduling software and project management software
- Ability to be a strong negotiator and can remain calm under stress
- Possessing excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to be a good team player and possess leadership skills
- Must possess organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks within a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Having strong customer focus, emotional intelligence, and ability to manage through change
- Having strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to schedule, monitor, and forecast resources for optimum efficiency
- Having underground construction skills
- Having effective verbal and written communication skills

**Job Requirements**:

- 6+ years of experience in construction as a Site Supervisor/Superintendent, Assistant Project Manager or Deputy Construction Manager in GTA.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy construction
- Minimum 10 years of experience in concrete operations (forming, pouring)
- Possessing thorough knowledge in large scale heavy construction projects
- Have a post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
- Having experience in mechanical repairs
- Having experience in handling injection devices, air compressors, generators
- Having all necessary certifications like Working at Heights, WHIMIS, First Aid, and Basics of Supervision
- Having computer skills: Microsoft Project / Microsoft Office / MS Word / Excel
