**Summer Facilities Student**

Contract starting May 27 and ends August 30, 2024

**JOB PURPOSE**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**- Move, deliver, assemble and record inventory of tables, chairs, desks and other school furniture across the school- Perform painting tasks, including but not limited to drywall painting, touch-ups, and other related duties within the Facilities department- Perform minor maintenance and repairs that require the ability to safely use a variety of tools and equipment- Provide spot cleaning services within buildings and their associated grounds- Support other summer projects within the Facilities team as needed

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**- Currently enrolled in post-secondary school- Prior work experience in a similar position is an asset, and prior painting experience is considered a strong asset- Demonstrates good collaboration skills and works well with others- Has the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines and adjust priorities accordingly- Ability to interact with students and staff cheerfully, enthusiastically, courteously, patiently and with discretion- A proactive team player who is flexible and self-motivated with a “How can I help?” attitude
- Proficiency in a technologically rich environment, and skilled in Google Workspace is considered an asset

**WORKING REQUIREMENTS**- The York School Campus, Toronto- Occasional early mornings, evenings and weekends may be required- Requirement to work independently on projects and as part of a small team- Regular lifting, approximately 10kg- Occasional work with paints and chemicals
