The Job - Cleaner / Packer

Contents Technicians show up every day with a can-do attitude and desire to help. This team does vital work helping clients save precious possessions and memories with empathy, compassion, and hard work. When disaster strikes, Contents Technician teams are deployed to restore order out of chaos and clean up the aftermath. Working on site and in the HIGHLAND DKI warehouse means no day or disaster is ever the same.
- **Contents Technicians are responsible for**:_
- Working with customers to restore personal and commercial items to pre-disaster state
- Packing and cataloging contents from disaster affected areas and creating inventory lists
- Using Encircle Restoration Software
- Cleaning contents and structures
- Cleaning fabrics and têxtiles
- **What you bring**:_
- Must have 2+ years' experience working in disaster (flood, fire, asbestos, biohazard) restoration
- An optimistic outlook and a real desire to help
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Physically fit (ability to lift, carry and pack boxes) and willingness to follow all company safety requirements
- Valid driver’s G licence & clean drivers abstract
- Able to successfully satisfy HIGHLAND DKI's criminal record check requirements
- Ability to communicate in English at an intermediate level

Of Note

Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement.

- Are you organized and can clearly list contents that you have packed?
- Are you observant and can clearly document client belongings for insurance purposes?
- Do you consider yourself tech savvy? Can you operate a tablet to document items; take pictures and record information as instructed?
- Are you willing to learn and help other departments if needed including demolition and debris disposal?
- Are you fluent reading / writing/ speaking English? If no, please rank your skills out of 10
- Have you ever used Encircle (Mobile property restoration and claims documentation software)?
- Please share the tasks and responsibilities you had when previously in the role of a Contents Technician.
- Are you able to work a Rotating On-Call Schedule? This is additional to scheduled daytime hours.

**Salary**: $17.20-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
