Duties/Responsibilities:
- Cuts, trims, and prepares meat - Maintains the sharpness, cleanliness, and sterilization of knives and tools. - Ensures preparation areas are kept clean.
- Closely follows all safety and sanitation procedures.
- Work with team members and individually
- Cut meat into specific cuts for institutional, commercial or other wholesale use
- Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, applicable food handling and sanitation requirements. - Ability to use knives, scales, and other implements safely and with precision. - Good verbal communication skills. - Ability to concentrate on a singular task.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Wasaga Beach, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Experience**:
- meat cutting: 1 year (preferred)
