Sawmill Maintenance Supervisor

**Sawmill Maintenance Supervisor, Greenfield, Queens County, Nova Scotia**

We are currently looking for a full time Sawmill Maintenance Supervisor to join our Freeman Lumber Maintenance Team. This role reports directly to the Sawmill Superintendent and will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance program with a team of Industrial Mechanics/ Millwrights, Welders and support staff. This role will both plan and schedule maintenance for the sawmill, keeping both short
- and long-term maintenance goals in mind.

Responsibilities include:

- Providing strong leadership skills with an ability to collaborate and build good working relationships across multiple departments
- Planning and implementing daily and weekly preventative maintenance work lists and duties
- Coordinating the work of crews to ensure both maintenance, production and quality targets are met
- Developing, implementing and maintaining detailed maintenance planning schedules that drive continuous improvement
- Providing hands-on technical expertise on the mill floor to increase and maintain plant operations/equipment
- Ensuring an effective maintenance system that meets ISO 9001 standards

- Knowledge in key maintenance programs, such as reliability metrics, preventative maintenance systems, parts inventory management, project management, machining and mechanical practices

- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Programs
- Work with mínimal supervision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Good organization and decision-making skills

**Qualifications**
- A completed program, University or College level, in mechanical engineering and/or Millwright ticket/red seal certification
- Demonstrated leadership with a drive for continuous improvement
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in supervision or maintenance in a sawmill

**Compensation**: Commensurate based on experience
