- Reporting to the Senior Manager, Staffing, Recruitment & Contract Services, Elementary Teaching, the _
- Staffing, Recruitment and Appraisal Administrator will be responsible for providing support in the areas of _
- staffing and recruitment of elementary teachers, performance appraisal systems/training, customer _
- service coordination, public relations, and placements of Faculty of Education students. _
- The Staffing/Recruitment & Appraisal Administrator will: _
- _Provide administrative support and customer service leadership for the Elementary Teaching Office _
- in the areas of recruitment, staffing, records and employee relations; _
- _Manage and maintain all requirements pertaining to the completion of reports for the Performance _
- Appraisal Tracking systems for Elementary & Secondary Teaching Offices; _
- _Coordinate the development and implementation of a customer service model for the Elementary _
- Teaching Office; _
- _Manage all customer services projects from initiation to implementation and ensure successful _
- delivery; _
- _Supervise Customer Service Assistants; _
- _Liaise with internal staff and external contacts (e.g. Faculties of Education); and _
- _Develop and maintain training cycles, schedules, training modules and pod casts for the delivery of _
- professional development.**Summary of Duties**:
Provide support for recruitment including surveying for teachers, responding to university surveys, and

surveying principals and vice-principals;
Provide support to the staffing process for elementary teachers including tracking staffing complement,

declaring and posting of vacancies etc;
Ensure that the Collective Agreement provisions and the Employee Services protocols and procedures are

applied to all on-line recruitment and staffing processes;
Coordinate the placement of student teachers into Elementary TDSB Schools and liaise with the University

Faculties of Education and schools to develop a scheduling plan for Faculty of Education student teacher
placements;
Supervise the creation and flow of information on TDSB inter and intranet sites as they pertain to
Elementary Teaching Office - Employee Services;
Establish, implement and maintain a customer service model for the Elementary Teaching Office;
Supervise Customer Service Assistants;
Develop communication strategies which supports and informs Principals and Vice-Principals (e.g. weekly

memo);
Develop on-line training modules and pod casts for Teachers, Principals and Vice-Principals;
Develop an Elementary Teaching Office training cycle and schedule for Principals, Vice-Principals, &
Teachers, ensuring training schedules are entered on Key To Learn;

Manage and maintain all requirements pertaining to the completion of reports for the Performance
Appraisal (e.g. mVal) for Elementary & Secondary Teaching Offices; and the Applicant Tracking
Respond to requests for information on TDSB and Employee Services, policies, procedures and protocols
(e.g. recruitment/staffing issues);
Respond to enquiries and complaints from staff, the public, applicants, Ontario College of Teachers and
Ministry of Education;
Provide front-line support on managing sensitive issues such as human rights/equity issues, staffing
issues, and performance appraisals;
Participate on and support various committees (e.g. Occasional Union-Hiring/Staffing Review Committee,
Elementary Teaching Office Advisory Council and Employment Equity Council);
Compile hiring, staffing and promotion data and statistics as required the Senior Manager, Employment
Equity Manager and Negotiation teams;
Work with the Senior Manager to prepare for negotiations as required; and
Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:
Three year community college diploma in directly related field (e.g. Business Administration-Human

Resources, Public Relations) with three years progressively responsible related experience for a large
multi-site, multi-union environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
information systems, performance appraisal systems (MVal,TPA,PPA), applicant tracking systems
(Winocular) and learning management system;
Presentation, training and facilitation skills including experience developing on-line training modules and
pod casts;***

Experience creating web-site pages;
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with staff, and internal/external

organizations;
