MICROCOM is looking for an IT Technician who will be responsible for providing 2-3 day on-site technical support for one of our clients which is currently experiencing strong growth; it is a large company located in Saint-Eugene ON, close to the Québec border. The other days of the week will be spent at out office in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve in Montreal, QC.

Founded in 1995, MICROCOM offers a set of strategy and technology services covering both IT infrastructure and business solutions. Most customers are based in the Greater Montreal area.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Perform installation, administration and support tasks on the client's IT systems;
- Communicate electronically, by phone or in person with users to assess and document their issues;
- Install, configure and update software, computers and network devices;
- Install and configure computer components such as memory sticks, disks or network devices;
- Configure and upgrade in-house software complying with best practices;
- Connect computers and equipments to the network and ensure they work as expected;
- Make backups, copies, compress or destroy files on various media
- Document operations and configurations;
- Provide support and advice to users;
- Ensure high quality of service and customer satisfaction;
- Organize and maintain a log for problems and solutions by collecting the right data; it will be used by the technical staff;
- Perform certain tasks on networks.
- Consult user guides, technical manuals and other documents to better understand how to implement solutions;

- Bilingual: English and French
- Good IT culture: must know and understand the most common technologies (hardware, software and other) in use in the industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows O/S for workstations (versions 7, 8, 10 and 11);
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server O/S;
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix (asset for future projects);
- Knowledge of networking and telecom (router, firewall, switch, internet);
- Knowledge of hardware (workstation, laptop, tablets server);
- Knowledge of office software (MS-Office Suite);
- Experience in analyzing customer needs would be an asset.

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
