Langley, Canada West Creek Farms Full time

West Creek Farms is seeking a general labourer for a full-time seasonal position. We are a custom soil blender servicing the greenhouse, nursery, and landscaping industry.

We are looking for a friendly, customer focused, motivated individual with a desire to learn who can work independently as well as enjoy working on a diverse team.

**Job Summary**:Loads and unloads inventory, prepares products for use in the mixing line, prepares landscaping materials, maintains overall cleanliness, safety, and positive aesthetics of the interior and exterior workspace of the company. Conducts minor repairs. Maintains assigned equipment, vehicles or machinery.

**Job Duties**:

- Loads inventory into trucks and unloads inventory from trucks and places on yard
- Prepares materials for use in the mixing line and ensures enough product for use each day.
- Places bags of materials on the production platform according to recipes.
- Brings materials to the staging area
- Makes landscape products by following recipes as per standard operating procedures.
- Cleans equipment, vehicles, inventory areas, and other assigned areas as per the standard operating procedures with a focus on dust removal and keeping the areas in good working condition.
- Uses appropriate equipment to ensure that all bulk products are pushed up to avoid cross contamination from other products
- Maintains overall cleanliness, safety, and positive aesthetics of the interior and exterior workspace by activities such as emptying the garbage containers, painting, managing weeds & blackberries, trimming hedges, digging trenches, mixing concrete, moving dirt, fixing tiles, fixing light fixtures, and maintaning gutters, roof, front lawn, water system, drains, gardens, etc.
- Assists in performing maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment, dust removal systems, machinery and vehicles
- Supports coworkers to prepare product for the mixing line by performing such activities as cutting bales using methods identified in the standard operation procedures.
- Maintains a high level of customer service and professional image in all dealings with customers, suppliers or co-workers.
- Works collaboratively and positively with coworkers within a team environment to deliver the right products in the right amount to customers at the right time.
- Works to continuously improve the workflow processes and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma
- At least 1 years’ experience operating a tractor/loader is preferred
- At least 2-3 years’ experience operating a forklift.
- Excellent verbal English and great interpersonal and communication skills
- Physically able to do the job including lifting of product, cleaning areas, etc.
- Proven ability to maintain a clean and operationally ready work site.
- Exudes a positive and strong work ethic
- Proven ability to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments.
- Work experience in several areas including some construction, landscaping, and mechanical is an asset

*Note: Own transportation is required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 2 - 3 months

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay
