**THE GUESTHOUSE SHELTER IS LOOKING FOR WARMING CENTRE STAFF**

The Guesthouse Shelter (TGHS) is a not-for-profit registered charity dedicated to providing shelter food and support to those experiencing homelessness or who are at-risk of becoming homeless.

We are looking for passionate people to join our dynamic team as a Warming Centre Worker, responsible for the overall execution of the warming centre during the evening and overnights.

**The Guesthouse is looking for people who**:

- Want to make a real difference in the lives of those less fortunate,
- Accept and practice harm reduction practices and strategies,
- Know or want to learn about Housing First principles,
- Provide consistent coverage for shifts, working within the team and independently,
- Help others with questions or issues,
- Love to cook and clean,
- Can monitor and supervise the shelter and guest affairs after hours, assists guests with needs and questions and maintain shelter order and a safe environment,
- Maintain written and oral communication of incidents,
- Participate in ongoing shelter duties (administration, data entry, shelter housework, laundry, meal prep).

**Qualifications**

Minimum preferred qualifications for this position are completion of a two (2) year post-secondary diploma in human services administration, mental health, social services or related field, and/or between one (1) to three (3) years of job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the not-for-profit sector, or management of staff and/or volunteers.

**Available Shifts**
- Evenings
- Overnights

**Salary**: From $20.00 per hour
