The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. **Position summary**
Translational research laboratory seeking a Research Assistant to be part of a team developing tools for the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases. Working with Drs. Metrakos, Lazaris they will study molecular and cellular mechanisms of Colorectal cancer liver metastasis. This project has elements of both bench and translational research. The person will be involved in a project focused on studying the biological mechanisms underlying liver metastasis. The assistant will work under the supervision of the labs scientist to develop novel therapeutic and diagnostic strategies targeting liver metastases. They will be responsible for their own research project, from designing experiments to performing and analyzing data. They will also support students and staff with various research projects.

**General Duties**
- Designing and performing experiments,
- Collecting and analyzing data,
- Participating in weekly lab meetings,
- Preparing and delivering scientific presentations,
- Training other laboratory members and undergraduate students.

**Education**:
Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study: Cell Biology

Work Experience:
Applicants should have backgound in cell biology, with research experience in molecular biology, preferably related to cancer
- Expertise in biochemistry, microscopy and/or immunology would be an asset, but is not required.

**Required Skills**:

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively,
- Demonstrated management skills (should be able to manage multiple projects involving a wide array of techniques, organisms, and personnel),
- Teaching of undergraduate students,
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities in response to deadlines and the priorities of the laboratory,
- Organizational skills,
- Team player,
- Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work with teams with mínimal supervision.

**Status**: Temporary, full time
**Pay Scale**: $48,503.00 to $90,090 Commensurate with education and experience
**Work Shift**: Monday to Friday
**Work Site**: Glen site
