**Hughes Safety Showers, NA** currently has an opening for a **Fiberglass Laminator** in Sarnia, Ontario. Hughes Safety Showers is a world leader in the manufacturing of emergency safety showers, eye/face wash and decontamination equipment designed to operate across all industries regardless of location, climate or local hazards. **Hughes is willing to train associates that do not have the minimum qualifications but the person needs to be located in Sarnia, ON.**

The Fiberglass Laminator has the primary responsibility of manufacturing all Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) parts. The Fiberglass Laminator will laminate layers of fiberglass on molds to form safety shower products. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the GRP area. A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable and have good communication and organizational skills.

A Fiberglass Laminator is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of high-quality Safety Showers and eye/face washes.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**
- To accurately read blueprints, drawings and take accurate measurements to ensure quality of product.
- Ability to use hand tools required to perform the job but not limited to; all types of grinders, belt sander, hammers, rollers, brushes, drills, saws, screw guns, metal shears, utility knives, framing square and edging tools.
- Perform a range of laminating processes which includes wet-lay and may also include infusion, vac-bagging, pre-preg or RTM
- Precut fiberglass mats, cloth and wood-bracing materials as required
- Pat or press layers of saturated mat or cloth into place on molds, using brushes and hands, and smooth out wrinkles and air bubbles with hands or squeegees
- Mix catalysts into resins using brushes
- Ability to complete part repairs and trimming
- Must be able to perform regular preventive maintenance on GRP moulds.
- Responsible for training other laminators and support workers
- Daily cleaning of work area.
- Must always maintain safety standards.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required**
- Have a great attitude and willing to grow with the company
- Diligently always follow safe work practices for yourself and team members
- 2 years minimum experience within the Marine, Aerospace, Automotive or other quality driven industry is preferable.
- Experience with Fiberglass Laminating is preferable.
- A thorough understanding of GRP laminating and associated processes including those mentioned above which may include trimming and grinding.
- Must be able to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with mínimal supervision.
- Knowledge of measurements using a tape measure.

**Working Conditions**
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs. to waist and overhead with proper lifting techniques.
- Ability to use ladders at least 10 feet off the ground.
- Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, pull, push and lift 50 lbs. up to 8 hours per day and when overtime is scheduled.
- Wear all required PPE including steel toed shoes and safety glasses.
- Good physical condition and endurance.
