**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Design and undertake health economic analyses of health care interventions using various methods such as state-transition, microsimulation, or discrete event simulation models as well as regression analyses, as required
- Review literature, critically appraise the usefulness, relevance and limitations of data sources and ensure the appropriateness of analytical methods and accuracy of analyses in meeting the needs of the research questions under study
- Systematically review and critically appraise existing economic evaluations (model structure, model inputs, assumptions, and results)
- Liaise with other researchers, including clinicians, scientists/health economists, to develop research questions and manage research projects
- Prepare and communicate findings in the form of reports and peer-reviewed publications, rounds, and scientific conferences, as required
- Assist with grant/manuscript writing and submissions
- Support project of scientists/health economists to ensure project objectives are met

**Basic Requirements (Education/Experience)**:

- Graduate degree (MSc. in relevant area, such as health economics, epidemiology, health services research, economics, mathematics, or operations research)
- Training/expertise in developing (including coding), parameterizing, calibrating, and analyzing cohort, microsimulation, /or discrete event simulation models for full economic evaluations and comparative impact evaluation
- Experience and proficiency in building and evaluating health economic models in Microsoft Excel with Visual Basic for Applications, R, or other relevant computer software
- Strong analytical abilities to manage and manipulate data using at least one statistical software program, such as SAS, STATA and R
- Proven ability to work independently, take direction from various sources and prioritize workload with particular attention to detail
- Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task, work accurately and effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and remain composed in high-pressure situations
- Excellent data management and data visualization skills

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Graduate degree in health economics, health services research, health technology assessment, and epidemiology with a thesis focusing on health economic evaluation
- 3- 5 years’ experience in conducting full economic evaluations using the above model types
- Previous experience in protocol development, grant writing, manuscript writing, and making presentations to scientific audiences: specifically, excellent written communication skills with demonstrated first author manuscript/report/thesis
- Knowledge in the areas of Canada's health care system, biostatistics, clinical research methods, and epidemiology
- Experience with the development and use of policy models in economic evaluation
- Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written formats for both technical and non-technical audiences

**Contract Details**:
This is a 2-year full-time contract with the possibility of renewal

**Salary**: Min:$36.237/hr - Max:$45.000/hr
