**PART-TIME GENETIC COUNSELLOR**

**Department**: Genetic Counsellors

**Reports To**: Chief Operations Officer

**Location**: Vancouver Clinic; Remote

**Work Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday**
- 8 hours per day/ 24 hours per week

**Overview**:

- Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose, and Commitment of Olive Fertility Centre:_

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Part-Time Genetic Counsellor is pivotal to the organization - this role focuses on in-house counselling and coordination of genetic testing for our patients. Your courteous and professional approach to patient centred care is vital for our patients to have during their treatment at Olive.

**Key Areas of Involvement Include**:

- Providing pre and post-test genetic counselling for patients having any genetic testing done through the Olive Fertility Centre (the Company) including: o Non-invasive prenatal testing (e.g., harmony) o Comprehensive chromosome and carrier screening tests o New genetic testing as they become available.
- Preimplantation genetic screening counselling prior to the IVF cycle and at the time the embryo biopsy result becomes available.

**Qualifications**:
**Education, Training and Experience**:

- Master’s Degree in Genetic Counselling
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or Biological Sciences
- 1 - 2 years’ experience in Genetic Counselling, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Previous experience with fertility patients is an asset.

**Skills and Abilities**:

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- MS Office
- Ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to relate and interpret data into evaluation and feedback.
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Great attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2.5 months

**Salary**: $42.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Master's Degree (required)

**Experience**:

- Genetic Counselling: 1 year (preferred)

Work Location: In person
