**Position Overview**

Reporting to the Manager of Facility Operations, the successful applicant will be responsible for the supervision, coordination, and monitoring of all maintenance and year-round operations of multi-functional and high use municipal facilities including such as arenas, community centres, specialty and corporate facilities, and pools. The incumbent will develop and implement procedures, policies, and training to ensure public and staff safety. The Supervisor of Operations will also be accountable for required standards established by the Ministry of Labour, Ontario Fire Code, TSSA, and health standards.

**Responsibilities**

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Supporting program and service delivery through ensuring clean, safe, and available recreational facilities.
- Providing operational systems for all assigned facilities including operations administration, maintenance, janitorial services, emergency, security, and fire safety services.
- Hiring, training, motivating, discipline and evaluation of staff, both full time and part time, non-union and union. Ensures that training opportunities are made available for operations staff to learn/review emergency procedures, health & safety procedures, and customer service skills.
- Overseeing the annual planning of facility operations, including start-ups and shutdowns.
- Working closely with the Facility Assets Department, support capital project program. Coordinates needs identification, scope of work, cost estimates and procurement process. Budget development, monitoring and adherence for assigned facilities, both current and capital.
- Developing and evaluates performance measures to meet business and customer needs. Identifies and develops continuous improvement opportunities to enhance service delivery and customer service, focused on the overall service plan.
- Understanding and works within the limits of the union contract and responds to union issues and concerns.
- Ensuring that back up service/support is available at all facilities, participates in on-call for emergency services for facilities.
- Ensuring the safety of public and staff, as it pertains to facility and workplace. Accountable for required standards as established by the Halton Region Health Department, Ontario Building & Fire Codes, Ministry of Labour, ESA, & TSSA.

**Requirements**:
A valid G driver’s licence is required with an acceptable driver’s abstract (no more than three (3) driving related convictions or an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire).

This position may require occasional travel between sites and/or City facilities and must provide own transportation.
