**Position Summary**

- The Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Administrator possesses an in-depth knowledge of laboratory processes, workflows and practices in order to maximize the use of clinical information systems. The role is a champion for electronic medical records / health records. They collaborate with laboratory staff and others in the evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, changes and training of LIS. They also provide LIS regional support for incidents and problems, and ensure effective operations of the system, and participate as key members of LIS related projects.**Shift Rotation/Hours of work**: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00**Prince George** has a population of 89,490 (2021) local residents and is a service centre for approximately 320,000. **Qualifications**
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program (General)
- Certified and registered as a CSMLS with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science
- Four (4) years recent experience comprised of:

- Two (2) years recent related experience in a Laboratory department.
- Two (2) years recent related experience developing, implementing, maintaining and/or supporting clinical Laboratory Information Systems (LIS);
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to analyze and deal with problems.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in changing environments.
- Good judgment skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software and working knowledge of operating systems and clinical systems.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability and willingness to travel regionally and provincially.
