**Scope of Position**:
The Cook is responsible for producing meals for residents and guests using production checks and standardized recipes. The Cook will assist in the food ordering process for the home.

**Job Requirements**:
1. Must have a Canadian work permit
2. Must be able to commute (845 St Jean St., Rockland, ON K4K 1K5)

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepares meals for residents and guests ensuring dietary needs are met.
- Ensures residents are satisfied with all aspects of food preparation and presentation.
- Provides direction and support to the dining services staff.
- Participates as a member of the dining services team and provides support to the other members of the services team.
- Maintains an awareness of food inventory and takes the appropriate steps to minimize waste.
- Prepares and presents meals and food for special events in a manner that promotes a positive image and reputation to the public at large.
- Complies with all food preparation standards and health and safety requirements.
- Performs audits and reports anomalies in accordance with established policies, procedures and licensing regulations.
- Orders and receives food and supplies.
- Orders and prepares food for daily meal service and booked catering events.
- Operates and cleans food production equipment and food preparation areas.
- Aware of employees and supervisor’s responsibilities and follows all health and safety policies and procedures.
- Works safely to reduce the risk of injury to self, co-workers, and residents.
- Is alert to, remedies, and promptly reports all actual or potentially hazardous situations.
- Wears personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy.
- Complies with all levels of legislation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Le cuisinier est responsable de la préparation des repas pour les résidents et les invités en utilisant des listes de production et des recettes normalisées. Le cuisinier assistera dans le processus de commande des denrées alimentaires pour la résidence.

**Responsabilités clés**:

- Prépare les repas pour les résidents et les invités en veillant à ce que leurs besoins alimentaires soient satisfaits.
- S'assure que les résidents sont satisfaits de tous les aspects de la préparation des repas et de leur présentation.
- Donne des directives et du soutien au personnel des services de restauration.
- Participe en tant que membre de l'équipe des services de restauration et soutient les autres membres de l'équipe de service.
- Maintient une connaissance des stocks de nourriture et prend les mesures appropriées pour réduire le gaspillage.
- Prépare et présente les repas et les aliments pour les événements spéciaux de manière à promouvoir une image et une réputation positives auprès du grand public.
- Se conforme à toutes les normes de préparation des aliments et aux exigences en matière de santé et de sécurité.
- Effectue des audits et signale les anomalies conformément aux politiques, procédures et réglementations de licence établies.
- Passe des commandes et reçoit de la nourriture et des fournitures.
- Passe des commandes et prépare de la nourriture pour le service de repas quotidien et les événements de restauration réservés.
- Utilise et nettoie les équipements de production alimentaire et les zones de préparation des aliments.
- Connaît les responsabilités des employés et des superviseurs et suit toutes les politiques et procédures de santé et de sécurité.
- Travaille de manière sécuritaire pour réduire les risques de blessures pour lui-même, ses collègues et les résidents.
- Est attentif aux situations dangereuses réelles ou potentielles, y remédie et les signale rapidement.
- Porte un équipement de protection individuelle (ou des vêtements) tel que requis par la tâche, la FDS ou la politique de la résidence.
- Se conforme à tous les niveaux de législation.
- Effectue d'autres tâches connexes assignées.
