GCPE leads and coordinates government communications through its three divisions: Strategic Communications, Communications Operations and Corporate Priorities.

The Strategic Communications division provides a variety of specialized communications support services to all ministries as required including writing and editorial services, advertising and marketing services, graphic design, social media and digital services.

Reporting to the Manager, Video Production, the Visual Communications Officer is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality in all aspects of video and photo production. The Visual Communications Officer ensures adherence to government policies and procedures for the production of video, audio and multimedia files on the government internet and intranet sites.

**Job Requirements**:

- **Bachelor’s Degree** in a related field such as videography, journalism, public relations, public policy, political science, writing, English, or a communications-related discipline AND **2 years** related experience*; **OR**:

- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Related experience includes:

- Experience in journalism or media-related field.
- Experience working in communications or marketing-related role.
- Experience working in broadcast production-related role.
- Experience in video/photo production and editing.
- Experience with video storytelling techniques.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

- Experience working with senior government officials.
- Captioning and subtitles in English and additional languages.
- Fluency in another language (such as Simplified and/or Traditional Chinese, Punjabi, French).
