**Job Description**:
The Community Employment Services Clerk is responsible for providing clerical and administration support to staff and clients who access Employment Ontario services, including the employment resource centre, Summer Jobs Service, Targeted Initiative for Older Workers and other related programs.

The incumbent provides intake support by gathering information from clients, analyzing the information and referring the client to the appropriate resources.

The incumbent prepares and delivers workshops to clients as required.

Required QualificationsA two (2) year diploma or equivalent in Office Administration-Executive, Business or Human Resources Diploma;- A minimum of three (3) years of previous relevant experience working within the Career/Employment Counselling field where responsibilities include working with clients to develop resumes and action plans;- Excellent organizational skills, planning abilities and attention to detail. The incumbent must have demonstrated customer service and organizational skills to manage a busy workload, handle multiple tasks, establish priorities and work under pressure to meet conflicting deadlines;- An effective communicator who demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills required to provide counselling support to a diverse group of clients. Previous experience will reflect the incumbent’s analytical abilities and proactive approach to problem solving and case file management;- The incumbent will have sound knowledge of workplace legislation and health and safety laws;- general office experience that includes computer proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, etc.);- Ability to type 65 wpm;- Demonstrated knowledge in labour market trends, employment conditions and community agencies;- Experience working within an Employment Services organization in a client service role- Experience building resumes for clients of an Employment Services agency;- Case work experience within a social services organization would be an asset;- Experience delivering employment related workshops would be an asset;- Ability to multi-task in a busy office environment;- Reception experience would be an asset;- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
