Job description

**Job Functions**:
Employees in this category carry out a variety of general laboring duties and operate and assist in the general laboring duties within the drilling services provided by Foraco Canada Ltd.

**Main Duties**:
**Employment requirements**
- Successful completion of mandatory in house new hire orientation and pre-hire qualification requirements.
- Certificates in first aid, H2S Alive, workplace hazardous materials information system (WHMIS), transportation of dangerous goods (TDG)(optional),

**Additional information**
- Progression to driller or support equipment operator is possible with proven experience
- Work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures when operating /using equipment.
- Align and manipulate sections of pipe or drill stem from a platform on the rig derrick during the removal and replacement of strings of pipe, or drill stem and drill bit
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of drilling mud systems and pumps during drilling, and mix mud chemicals and additives
- Record mud flows and volumes and take samples
- Operate and maintain drilling rig diesel motors, transmissions and other mechanical equipment
- Maintain drilling equipment on the drill floor
- Handle, sort and move drill tools, pipe, cement and other materials
- Clean up rig and site area, as well as the shop areas.
- Assist in setting up, taking down and transporting drilling rigs and drilling support equipment and tools
- May drive drilling rig support truck to transport materials.
- Assist in the shop with the preparation of drilling equipment for field operations.
- Participate and assist daily pre-shift inspections of equipment
- Other duties as required by the company

**Salary**: $31.50-$45.50 per hour
