Driller

**Macadam Construction Inc.** is seeking an operator for a directional drill. The main tasks will be drilling for third party blasting and directional rock anchoring and shoring.

**Experience and Tasks**:

- Operate the drill rig in an efficient and safe manner,
- 2 years minimum experience drilling,
- Drill blasting holes of various sizes.
- Directional drilling for shoring purposes. (rock anchors, Underpinning)
- Fill fluids in the drill daily as required.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain job equipment, including drill equipment.
- Assist others to complete their skilled tasks more effectively, (fill water tanks etc.).
- Complete all required paperwork and reporting in a timely manner as required by the company.
- Understand and practice all safety procedures in compliance with local, provincial and company standards.
- Clean and prepare the construction site for work, remove debris and possible hazards.
- Utilizes hand tools to complete tasks as needed (track cleaning etc.)
- Understand the scope of the project and all aspects of construction.
- Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities of this job classification.
- Be punctuality and demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Be a competent and effective communicator
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Safety orientated. (pre use inspections) is essential

**General Requirements**:

- High School Diploma, or GED.
- Ability to interpret, read, and understand customer construction work prints.
- Experience operating some construction equipment is a plus.
- General knowledge of construction practices
- Be able to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays when required.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Any certifications and up to date safety certificates will be viewed as a plus.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite is a plus
- Valid Drivers License with clean drivers abstract

**Your Physical Requirements**:

- This is a safety-sensitive position.
- Able to crouch, kneel, reach, grasp, lift, carry, push & pull up to 75 lbs.
- Climbing, sitting, standing, walking and driving for extended periods throughout work shift.

**Job Type**: Full-time

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday - 7am-5pm
- Weekends as needed.
