**Project Overview**:
The Confederation Line Extension Project - one of the components of the City of Ottawa Stage 2 O-Train system - includes the design, construction and financing of 27,5kilometres of light rail infrastructure. The scope of work also includes 4 kilometres of cut-and cover tunnels, 20 engineered structures, 16 stations and a light maintenance service facility.

When complete, Stage 2 will bring 77 percent of residents within five kilometres of rail transportation. It will greatly enhance the quality of life in Ottawa, contributing to shorter commutes, cleaner air and a stronger economy. It will also help the city prepare for continued growth, with a population that is expected to reach 1.1 million by 2031.

In April 2019, Kiewit-Eurovia-VINCI (KEV) was selected to design, build and finance the project. Construction is anticipated to be complete for the Confederation Line East extension in 2024 and in 2025 for the Confederation Line West extension.

**Position purpose**:
As a Superintendent, you will play a significant part in the success of the OLRT's project and set the highest expectations among your crew for saefty, quality, schedule, cost performance and team development.

**Principle Accountability and Responsibility**:
**_ General Description: _**
- Form and lead an effective discipline team, delegating responsibilities and setting goals
- Assist in the hiring, training and development of craft personnel (laborers, craft workers, foreman etc.)
- Develop and maintain open communications with crews, Field Engineers/Coordinators, Safety, Quality and clients
- Assist in preparing work plans and scheduling in determining manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
- Examine/inspect field conditions and troubleshoot problems, correct inaccuracies, and implement cost saving measures
- Monitor and adhere to established budgetary guidelines for job, and ensure that cost control measures are being followed
- Monitor job safety, and provide job safety training and awareness for all personnel
- Monitor standards of all jobs and ensure that all technical specifications are being met
- Develop three week schedules and participate to today schedules
- Advise senior level superintendents and/or project management of potential problems, work interferences, schedule difficulties, etc. Assist in resolving such problems as required
- Perform other job-related duties as requested by your supervisor

**Education and Experience**:

- 7 and more years of experience in the construction industry within the infrastructure division
- Must have at least 5 years' experience of supervisory experience as a Field Engineer
- Understanding of cost management processes, planning and scheduling
- Working knowledge of computers and experience using Microsoft Office Suite
