The Community Legal Clinic, a leading non-profit legal clinic in Red Deer, Alberta, is actively seeking a passionate and dedicated Tenant Advocate to join our team. This role is instrumental in advocating for the rights and well-being of tenants within our community.

Position: Tenant Advocate

Location: Red Deer, Alberta, Canada

Type: Full-time

**Responsibilities**:
1. Provide support and advocacy services to tenants facing housing-related issues, including eviction, disrepair, and lease disputes.

2. Educate tenants about their rights and responsibilities under Alberta's Residential Tenancies Act.

3. Assist tenants in navigating the legal process and understanding their options for resolution.

4. Conduct intake interviews to assess the nature of tenants' concerns and provide appropriate advice.

5. Represent tenants in negotiations with landlords, mediation sessions, and, when necessary, at Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service (RTDRS) hearings.

6. Collaborate with legal professionals within the organization to ensure comprehensive support for tenants.

7. Develop and deliver educational workshops and materials to inform tenants about their rights and responsibilities.

8. Stay updated on changes in relevant legislation and regulations affecting tenants' rights.

9. Maintain accurate and detailed records of client interactions and case progress.

10. Uphold the values and mission of The Community Legal Clinic in all professional interactions.

Qualifications:
1. Experience working in a tenant advocacy role or related field.

2. Knowledge of Alberta's Residential Tenancies Act and other relevant housing legislation.

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize and advocate effectively.

4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

5. Familiarity with the legal system and dispute resolution processes related to tenancy issues.

6. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

7. Commitment to social justice and a passion for serving the community.

How to Apply:
**Salary**: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
