This position is available November 2024 to June 2025 with a possibility of extension from September 2025 to May 2026.

The Ministry of Education, Robarts School for the Deaf in London, Provincial and Demonstration Schools Branch, require ASL-English Interpreters to provide interpreting services in educational and resource services programs for students and staff who do not share the same language or culture.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**:

- Provide interpreting services for Deaf students and staff in various settings.
- Provide interpreting services for administrative and professional staff in sensitive and demanding situations.
- Provide interpreting services for training sessions and workshops.

**How do I qualify?**:
**Mandatory**:

- Degree or Diploma in ASL-English Interpreting
- Fluency in American Sign Language and English

**Knowledge and Skills**:** Your background and experience enables you to meet the following requirements**:

- Ability to interpret in a wide range of formal, informal, educational and professional settings.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Professional Code of Ethics of the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI).
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of Deaf culture.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience interpreting in both small and large group settings.
