- city health centre our client populations include individuals and families with chronic and complex health and social conditions, many of which are living in poverty.
We are seeking a Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS) Manager to join our team. The
CTS Manager manages the day-to-day functions of the CTS program delivery for the Centre. The
Manager works closely with other Program Managers with a focus on coordinating services to ensure efficient, effective and integrated client-centered approaches that meet client needs.
The Manager provides direct supervision for consumption and treatment services staff.
Hiring Range: $69,102.86 - $74,041.92
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage health human resources, foster inter-professional team approaches and optimize the skills and knowledge of providers to ensure quality service and connection to the most appropriate provider.
- Ensure continuous quality improvements and adherence to best practices or leading practices related to primary health care services and health promoting programs particularly in relationship to the Centre’s priority populations.
- Participate in operational planning process and management of the Centre’s resources particularly related to harm reduction services and programs.
- Work in tandem internally across teams and externally across agencies and service providers to develop or enhance service collaborations and partnerships to connect people with harm reduction services and to expand the range of service for clients.
- Provide leadership and support for staff to ensure the effective use of EMR and other health technologies.
- Develop, adapt, implement, and document mechanisms to ensure effective service delivery and professional practice including policies and procedures for day-to-day service and program functions.
- Oversee scheduling processes, ensuring the effective use of staff and facility resources
- Coordinate chart audits and other quality assurance activities
- Monitor workload and performance indicators, particularly those identified in accountability agreements with funders.
- Support, coach, and supervise consumption and treatment services staff, including the development and monitoring of goals and individual work plan.
- Complete regular performance appraisals for all direct reports
- Support the Executive Director in developing and monitoring operating budgets and ensuring expenditures remain within budget.
- Review and approve expenditures within assigned budgets.
- Participate in policy development and review activities.
- Participate in Centre-wide risk management initiatives.
- Participate in accreditation processes and provide leadership in areas related to the community health programs.
- Collaborate with the leadership to ensure achievement of the Centre’s performance and quality improvement targets and operational priorities. Actively support the Centre’s core competencies and the culture of equity consistent with the Centre’s mission and vision
- Work during both core and extended hours (evenings/weekends as required) to accommodate the needs of the Centre’s clients.
Qualifications:
- Relevant undergraduate degree in healthcare or social services and leadership from a recognized university. Master’s degree or additional relevant graduate training is preferred.
- Knowledge of supervised consumption and treatment and harm reduction services with strong emphasis on disease prevention and health promotion
- Demonstrable skills and knowledge in overdose prevention and response
- Demonstrable political acumen and skills
- Thorough knowledge of and proficiency in program planning, implementation, and evaluation and the provision of wrap around services for individuals who use drugs.
- Three to five years’ progressive management experience in a community-based, human or health services organization.
- Knowledge of consumption and treatment and harm reduction practices, legislation and related policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience leading an interprofessional team or multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication, analytical and organization skills
- Commitment to the anti-racism and anti-oppression principles at Hamilton Urban Core
- Understanding of the social determinants of health needs of people in the inner city
- Ability to collect and analyze data, including familiarity with computer software programs.
- Experience planning and coordinating complex activities, organizing multiple tasks and prioritizing work.
