Steel Stud Framer, Drywall Installer

A Steel Stud Framer is responsible for constructing and installing steel stud walls and framing systems in various commercial and residential construction projects. This role requires expertise in working with steel framing materials, accurately interpreting blueprints, and efficiently executing framing tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
Steel Stud Framing: Measure, cut, and install steel studs, tracks, and related components according to project specifications and building codes.

Blueprint Interpretation: Review construction drawings and blueprints to determine the layout and dimensions of steel stud walls and framing systems.

Layout and Marking: Accurately mark and layout the positions of steel studs, tracks, and openings on floors, walls, and ceilings, ensuring proper alignment and adherence to design plans.

Fastening and Anchoring: Secure steel studs and tracks to floors, walls, and ceilings using appropriate fasteners, anchors, and techniques.

Door and Window Framing: Install door frames, window frames, headers, and sills within the steel stud framework, ensuring proper alignment and support.

Collaboration: Coordinate and collaborate with other construction trades, such as electricians and plumbers, to integrate their systems within the steel stud framing.

Quality Control: Perform regular inspections to ensure the accuracy, quality, and compliance of steel stud framing work with building codes and project specifications.

Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling and use of tools and equipment, to maintain a safe working environment.

Material Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of steel studs, tracks, fasteners, and other framing materials, and requisition additional supplies as needed.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Steel Stud Framer or similar role in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of steel framing systems, techniques, and materials.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction blueprints and drawings.
- Strong mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools used in steel stud framing.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

**Salary**: $20.00-$40.00 per hour
