Weigher/sorter

**About us**

Peeters Mushrooms Inc. is a family owned operation that has been serving communities with high quality mushroom product for 40 years and we are currently seeking to add a member of our team in the position of Weigher/Sorter.

**Tasks**
- Weigher/Sorters weigh and sort mushrooms according to grade (#1 or #2 mushroom) and also according to size (#1’s, buttons, large, stuffers, silvers).
- Responsible for sorting and weighting 5 lb. and 10 lb. boxes of mushrooms. The boxes are individually weighed to ensure the proper weight. A cardboard lid is placed on top and the grade and size of the mushrooms in the box are signified by marking it on the box with a black marker.
- The mushrooms must be kept cool in coolers once they are harvested so Weigher/Sorters are also responsible for moving carts and skids as needed in and out of the coolers.
- The Weigher/Sorters may also assist at times with skidding boxes of mushrooms for shipping, cleaning mushrooms and debris from their workstations, catching mushrooms in boxes from the slicing machine, and assembling cardboard boxes and lids.
- Cleaning all debris from their stations and off the floor in the packing/weighing area at the end of the day
- Ensure a safe work environment is maintained throughout the day in the packing/weighing area and packaging storage rooms by keeping them free of debris and slippery, loose mushrooms.

**Qualifications**
- No experience is required (Full training is provided)
- Ability to speak and read basic English is required

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour
