**Are you interested in supporting young people to become involved in the community?**

The Dream Broker program in Regina is a partnership between the Regina Public Schools,
Regina Catholic Schools, Sask Sport, SaskCulture and the Saskatchewan Parks and
Recreation Association. Additional support is provided by the Sask Lotteries Trust Fund, Community
Initiatives Fund, KidSport, Creative Kids and Give Kids a Chance Charity. The purpose of a Dream
Broker is to facilitate and support the participation of inner-city children in sport, culture, recreation and arts activities by:

- Developing supportive, trusting relationships with children, parents, school staff and community service providers to identify and meet needs of children.
- Facilitating and providing support centered around the needs and wants of children to enable and sustain participation in activities of choice.
- Promoting and supporting the initiative’s purpose, goals and objectives through community engagement.

**Employment Terms**:

- Full time (37.5 hours per week)
- Flexible hours to accommodate needs of children, youth, families, and community.
- Evening and weekend hours required.
- Working in both school and community settings.

**Skills, Experience and Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated experience working with inner city children, youth and families.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community.
- Knowledge of the Saskatoon urban communities and delivery systems for sport, culture, recreation, and arts programming.
- Ability to be flexible, manage a variety of tasks simultaneously, handle multiple interruptions and adjust priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to demonstrate cultural competency through a strong understanding of First Nations,

Inuit and Métis traditions, values, cultures and perspectives, Elder protocols and partnership connections within the community.
- An understanding of trends, issues, challenges, and opportunities relating to First Nations,

Inuit and Métis participation in sport, culture and recreation programming.
- Ability to act independently, demonstrate initiative and the ability to be proactive in a team environment.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships in changing environments.
- Comfortable working in both community and school settings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A combination of relevant education and experience is required. Post secondary training in one of the following: recreation, kinesiology, education or the social sciences is an asset.
- Driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification and a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector
