- Our story starts in 1911, manufacturing cables to support the distribution of power generated from Niagara Falls, Nexans has proudly contributed to Canada's growth. We have been involved in many of Canada's most ambitious projects; from dams, bridges, energy transmission and distribution to railroads and transportation. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.- Our Weyburn plant produce medium voltage power and overhead power transmission cables which are tailored to utilities and distributors. The manufacturing plant is certified to the ISO 9001 quality certification standard and operates out of a 160,000 square foot facility. You will manage hourly payroll and provide necessary HR backup for the site and you will report directly to the Weyburn HR Site.**GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION**
- The position will manage payroll and provide administrative and functional support to the HR and Finance functions in Weyburn focusing on accurate and timely analysis and reporting on results, KPIs and processes.**HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT**
- Responsible to process bi-weekly hourly unionized payroll and union dues/payments utilizing time and attendance systems to ensure accurate & timely reporting of pay data
- Ensure payroll information is compliant with legislation and CBA
- Responsible for processing necessary changes related to payroll (eg. Vacation pay, rate changes, benefit premiums, etc.)
- Contribute to prepare monthly reports and analyze main KPI accurately (production, inventory, HR and other industrial KPIs) and provide relevant information to plant, business unit and corporate management
- Preparation of recurring or specific “on-demand” reports to support financial, HR and operational performance analysis
- Participate in internal and external financial & HR audits to comply with mandatory guidelines, as well as government filing requirements
- Participate in the employee engagement annual survey administration and follow-up actions to ensure communication of results and improvements to all employees.
- Participates in recruitment activities from job requisition to offer.
- Supports manager in performance process including performance reviews cycle, development planning, attendance and performance management, succession planning.
- Support manager in pension, benefit & claims administration.
- Manage the internal communication plan including employee engagement activities, customer/supplier visits, product launches, CSR initiatives, inclusion & diversity, compliance, corporate announcements etc.
- Enhance human resources reporting including but not limited to union grievance reporting, legal reporting, HR scorecard, and monthly reporting.
- Provide support to plant controller and other departments to ensure production orders are managed properly
- Improve financial reporting, month end reporting, production reporting, standard costing, inventory control and scrap reporting. Improve accuracy and timeliness of all reporting processes.
- Other administrative duties as assigned.
- It will be expected from you to:
- Improve analysis and reporting to provide value added to plant and business unit.
- Support plant to Improve production orders management
- Support plant to improve employee engagement & labour relations

**WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE ?**
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification preferred
- Degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent experience
- 2 years related payroll processing experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detail oriented and works with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines
- Experience in ADP Workforce NOW is an asset
- Experience in MS Office and SAP an asset
- Detail-oriented, able to work on tight deadlines and learn quickly
- Ability to lead process and systems improvements
