The Psychological Associate Lead Hand will provide a broad range of psychological services (i.e. assessment, treatment, consultation, and research) for clients (including those with developmental disabilities) and their families.

**DUTIES**
- In addition to the duties, of the Psychological Associate, the Lead Hand shall:

- Supervise non-registered psychology personnel in both the assessment and treatment of clients as well as consultation to other staff
- Review new referrals of clients in need of services
- Assist with prioritization of cases
- Assist with case assignment to the Psychology Service staff
- Assist with case coordination
- Consult with referral source/community stakeholders where clarification on new referral is required
- Consult with referral source/community stakeholders where wait time for a new referral is longer than agreed in protocol
- Follow-up on all enquiries from clients/families waiting
- Participate in community protocol development

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Postgraduate level degree in Psychology (M.A.) required.
- Registered as a Psychological Associate in the Province of Ontario.
- Minimum of two years’ experience providing psychological services to children and youth with a wide range of mental health problems and/or global developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of legislation governing children and adolescents is essential.
- Knowledge and appreciation of issues facing our diverse populations (i.e. Anishinabek cultures, Francophone, Immigrant/Refugee, LGBT2SQ, etc.).
- Understanding the impact of the social determinants of health on our clients’ mental and developmental outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills, emotional maturity, patience, tact and resourcefulness are required.
- Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills in both official languages (English and French) is an asset.
- The ability to relate effectively with children, adolescents and their families.
- Demonstrated skills in assessment, treatment, clinical supervision and consultation as well as the capacity to work independently and as a member of an inter-disciplinary team are essential.
- Strong ability to self-reflect and practice safe and effective use of self.
- Ability to deliver programs and services to children, youth and families.
- Capacity to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team is essential
- Position requires the ability to work flexible hours contingent upon client needs.
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check required.
- This position is a unionized position.
