**The Opportunity**
Reporting to the Procurement Director, the Subcontract Specialist is responsible for providing subcontract management for Aecon Industrial to achieve its procurement objectives.
**What You'll Do Here**:
- Meet with subcontractor representatives to keep current on service offerings.
- Provide pricing for estimates and assisting with closing estimates.
- Source subcontractors, determine interest, and ensure they meet or exceed the minimum EHS, quality and financial requirements of Aecon and the Client.
- Invite tenders; consult with subcontractors and facilitate review of proposals with project team.
- Conduct/facilitate all aspects of the competitive bidding process including commercial and technical evaluations, issuing, receiving, recommending, awarding, and documenting.
- Identify the requirements in the prime contract applicable to subcontractors and develop flow downs.
- Gathering all required documents for subcontractor vendor set up.
- Receive subcontract requisitions. Develop, negotiate, execute, and issue subcontracts.
- Input and maintain all subcontract documents in the appropriate information systems.
- Ensure subcontractors have adequate and current ISN and insurance coverage throughout the subcontract life cycle.
- Coordinate with project team to issue/execute subcontract revisions as required.
- Reviewing invoice submissions for subcontract compliance.
- Facilitating invoice approvals and coordinate with accounts payable for processing.
**What You Bring to the Team**:
- Completion of post-secondary education.
- At least three (3) years of experience within an industrial or commercial construction procurement/subcontracts department.
- Completion of the P.M.A.C. Purchasing Certificate program or enrolment in the SCMP Accreditation Program is an asset.
- Understanding of supply chain principles, techniques, practices, and ethics.
- An understanding of the tools of procurement.
- Knowledge of industrial site subcontract services.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment.
- Service orientation and ability to work effectively with a team environment.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with professionals within industry and internal clients.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Solid research skills and commitment to continually learn about new products and services.
- Attention to detail, mathematical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
- SAP experience an asset.
