As a firefighter, you will be expected to respond to various types of emergencies, such as fires, medical calls, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and natural disasters.

To become a firefighter with Port Moody Fire Rescue, you must meet the minimum qualifications and go through a competitive recruitment process that includes psychometric evaluation, physical tests, interviews, and background checks (including police information check). You must also be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays, and maintain a high level of physical fitness and mental resilience.
