Winnipeg, Canada GOLDEN DOOR GERIATRIC CENTER Full time

This position contributes to the efficient operation of the department by ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe home-like environment, within an interdisciplinary, resident-focused team, consistent with the Mission and Vision and Values of Golden Door Geriatric Centre.

**MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Performs cleaning duties that meet provincial standards and infection control principles.
- Performs established daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal cleaning requirements.
- Prepare rooms for meetings as instructed by manager.
- Uses supplies in a cost-efficient manner and advises manager of required supplies and abnormal usage.
- Utilizes professional communication to establish a working relationship with resident/families and co-workers for the purpose of meeting the resident needs, ensuring respect, dignity, individuality of each resident and staff member.
- Supports continuous quality improvement in the department by providing constructive ideas and solutions to identified problems and challenges involving the provision of housekeeping services
- Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety.
- Establishing and maintaining good team relationships as well as interdepartmental relationships
- Participates in continuing education relevant to LTC, to ensure skills and abilities are maintained and enhanced.
- Performs other related duties as required to assist in the provision of quality care services to the residents of Golden Door Geriatric Centre and as they relate to the requirements of the position.
- Annually is required to participate in mandatory education. This is a requirement in accordance with standards established by Manitoba Health and the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and a conditioning of ongoing employment.

**REQUIRED**

Minimum grade XI education.

Possess excellent organizational skills.

Physical and mental health to meet position demands

Genuine interest in and concern for residents

Must have good attendance in present position

Demonstrated ability to verbally communicate in English

Demonstrated ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions

Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships

Maintain a professional appearance.

**PREFERRED**:
Housekeeping experience in a health care facility.

**There is 1 position available. It is a DAY position and the hours are 07:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The days of work in the 2 week rotation are**:
**Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Friday**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 12 per week

**Salary**: $15.91-$17.91 per hour
