**Position Title**: Geography Instructor

**Location**: 300 - 2920 Virtual Way, Vancouver, BC

**Compensation**: $71.31-$72.00/hour

**Position type**:Part-Time, possibility of Full-Time

**Start Date**:September 9th, 2024

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Instructing: GEOG 101: Weather and Climate, and GEOG 102: Introduction to Earth Science.
- Evaluating student performance fairly and consistently.
- Attending and participating in department, division and college meetings and keeping posted office hours.
- Keeping administrative obligations in a timely manner, i.e. grades, reports, etc.
- Participating in faculty responsibilities such as: course and curriculum development and review, committees, and special projects as needed in the department.
- Participating in professional development activities, such as: workshops, seminars, membership in professional organizations, publishing academic work, etc.
- Acting consistently in a manner that aligns with Coquitlam College’s mission, values, and goals.
- Other instructing related duties as identified by the incumbent or management.

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in Geography.
- Minimum two (2) years of post-secondary teaching experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in course designing and development considered an asset.

**Skills and Abilities**
- Must be proficient in MS Teams and Moodle/online learning and instruction platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of the Social Sciences team, as well as independently.
- Ability to consistently identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations based on observations.
